Weigh In Day!

 

I HAVE LOST 3 POUNDS!!!!

So today was weigh-in day with my co-worker Cherice. I was nervous but excited. Last Thursday I weighed 253.7 on our scale here at work. When I stepped on the scale today I weighed 250.0! I couldn't believe my eyes! I had to look twice to make sure I wasn't imaging the number!!! I am so excited that my hard work is paying off. Yesterday I was so tempted to have pizza for lunch and now after seeing the numbers on the scale I am so glad I went and had Heather K. tell me that I could do better for lunch!

This is my second week of having no soda. I can tell you this, "I WOULD KILL FOR A SODA RIGHT NOW!" However, I am so proud of the fact that I have stayed strong for this long. I am drinking water and iced tea when I am thirsty. I saw another co-worker yesterday with a Diet Coke and I looked to another co worker and said, "oh man that looks so good!" However, I know that the stuff in that soda was not helping me lose weight! So tea and water are my new best friends!!! 

This morning I had a half a bagel while sitting at the kitchen table with my Papa. Today is his 84th birthday! As I was going out to the garage to get my clothes this morning that I had left out there since I washed them last week, he looked at me and said, "so a bagel this morning?" I said, "no just a half a bagel!" He looked at me with this proud look on his face. To only have a half a bagel is a huge step for me. One thing I love is carbs and bread is amazing. However, I was actually pretty full from just the half a bagel. For a snack at work I had a strawberry yogurt. So today at lunch will probably be another lean cuisine and yogurt. Dinner I am not sure about yet but I know that I want to continue to see the numbers go down and not up on the scale!!!

Update for today, June 21, 2012

For lunch I went to Page One (cafe behind my work) with a friend/co-worker. For lunch I had the Bookmark sandwich. It was wheat bread with cream cheese, tomatoes, fresh basil, red onions,  and fresh cracked pepper. I also had a small side of fruit. I ate the cantaloupe and grapes that came in the fruit. I don't like honeydew melon or pineapple. I also had an iced tea to drink with lunch. I did really good though. My friend got some garlic cheese bread and I wanted to see if I could have a tiny piece and I told myself no that I didn't need it. Lunch was good. :) It's weird not getting what I usually get which is the chicken caesar panini which is so good but so bad for me!!! However, those 3 pounds I saw come off today is so worth getting something better for me!

For a snack I decided to have a string cheese and some slices of ham. I am getting the munchies but I am trying my best to not give in and have the bad stuff that I can have.

  1. So proud of you!!!!!! Congrats on your better choices and the discipline to stick to them. Which I was stronger right now to do that.
